Blackhawks down Bears

The Essential Coffee Burleigh Bears have gone down 16-10 to Townsville in their round 4 clash in Townsville overnight.

Burleigh who trailed 16-0 at half time were brave in the second half and nearly pulled off a remarkable win.

After tries to backs Jesse Arthars and Troy Leo, Burleigh were denied the chance to level the scores at the end of the game when Josh Berkers was held up over the line.

It was a tough day for the Bears with the Mal Meninga Cup (48-16)and Hastings Deering Colts ( 22-14) also both losing.

The Bears will travel to Davies Park on Sunday to take on the Souths Logan Magpies.
