Bears Women Take Down South Magpies!

BURLEIGH have clinched a crucial win as a tricky representative season looms.

The Bears scored five tries to three at Pizzey Park on Sunday afternoon but only snuck home 22-18 against Souths.

They managed that without Millie Boyle, Akayla McQuire and Zahara Temara, who is still yet to take the field in 2019 due to injury.

It’s just a taste of what’s to come in the next fortnight: Chelsea Lenarduzzi, Tallisha Harden, Tazmin Gray and Amber Pilley have all been selected for Queensland, Boyle has been picked for NSW and Chante Temara made the Queensland under-18 team.

Lenarduzzi conceded it would be a “mission” for their next two South East Queensland division one matches away against Easts and Toowoomba.
