Bears look to continue winning streak

Burleigh’s reserve grade team will look to keep their winning streak alive when they take on Runaway Bay on Saturday afternoon.

Sitting at the top of the Doug Lipp Cup competition ladder, the Bears have won eight games in a row and haven’t tasted defeat since Round 3.

Just two points clear of second placed Tugun, the Bears need to keep the streak alive in order to hang on to top spot.

With a long break since their last game on June 30, the Bears will need to shake off any rust to overcome a desperate Runaway Bay.

The Seagulls have lost five of their last seven games and risk dropping out of the top five if they can’t upset the top-of-the-table Bears at Pizzey Park.

The reserve grade clash kicks off at 2.30pm. It will be proceeded by the Under 20s taking on Currumbin at 1pm and will be followed by the A Grade clash between the Bears and Bay at 4.30pm.
