The Burleigh Bears continue to walk the tight rope in a congested Gold Coast Under 20s competition when they take on Runaway Bay on Saturday afternoon.
Only four points separate second from fifth, meaning with just five rounds remaining, every week there is opportunity to move up and there is a risk of dropping down.
Thanks to a positive for-and-against, the Bears currently sit in equal third place just ahead of Runaway Bay and two points behind the second placed Helensvale.
A win on Saturday could see the Bears jump up to second place, while a loss could see them drop all the way down to fifth depending on other results.
The Bears will also need to bounce back from a 44-26 loss at the hands of runaway competition leaders the Currumbin Eagles last weekend.
Currumbin cannot be caught at the top of the table, but the race for second is very much alive and the Bears can take a big step towards that goal if they can win on Saturday.
