The quest for the Hastings Deering Colts minor premiership continues !

The quest for the Hastings Deering Colts minor premiership continues when the Burleigh Bears take on Sunshine Coast this Sunday morning.

Burleigh still hold on to top spot, but a loss on Sunday could see them drop to second if other results go against them.

The Wynnum Manly Seagulls remain on equal points with the Bears while the third placed Blackhawks are just two points behind.

With Townsville taking on the Seagulls on Saturday, a Burleigh loss and a Blackhawks win would see a three-way tie at the top of the ladder heading into the final round.

Burleigh’s superior for-and-against has them at an advantage and a win over the Flacons would put them in a very strong position with a game against 10th place Capras coming next week.

Coach Jamie Mahon has named an unchanged 17 to take on the Falcons after another big win over the Pride last week.

Alofiana Khan-Pereira was the star of the show, crossing for three of Burleigh’s eight tries while Shallin Fuller, Lochlyn Sheldon, Andrew Scougall, Cameron Brown and Jayden Campbell got across the line as well.

Kick-off between the Bears and Falcons is 11.20am this Sunday. It will be followed by the Intrust Super Cup clash at 1.10pm.
