Burleigh’s Hastings Deering Colts side will battle the Wynnum Manly Seagulls this Sunday in the first week of the 2019 finals series.
In what shapes as a huge day at BMD Kougari Oval, the Colts will take the field at 12.15pm with the Intrust Super Cup final to follow immediately after at 2pm.
The Bears finished in a three-way tie at the top of the HDC competition ladder, with only for-and-against separating Townsville (1st), Burleigh (2nd) and Wynnum Manly (3rd) who all won 16 games this season.
Burleigh has only gone head-to-head with the Seagulls on one occasion this year, with the Bears claiming a convincing 50-20 win.
That kind of margin is unlikely to repeat itself this weekend as both sides went on to have stellar seasons since that meeting early in the year.
Wynnum have won eight of their last nine games while Bears have won seven of their last eight.
Bears coach Jamie Mahon has named an unchanged line-up from the team that beat Capras 26-10 last weekend.
Cameron Brown scored a double in that game while Jayden Campbell scored a try and kicked three conversions from five attempts.
