The Bears extend Luke Burt for three years.
The UAA Burleigh Bears have out their faith in Luke Burt long-term, extending the Head Coach’s contract until the end of the 2026 season.
After first joining the club as an assistant, Burt took over as Hostplus Cup Head Coach at the start of the 2023 season, and lead the Bears to a Minor Premiership, a Grand Final, a Club Championship and seventeen wins in his first year at the helm.
“Luke had a great first year with the club, and we’re excited with the direction Luke is taking the club. The extension to Luke’s contract brings stability allowing Luke to focus on the development of the players at the Bears.” Burleigh Bears CEO Damian Driscoll said.
For Burt, the Head Coach says extending his contract wasn’t a difficult decision at all.
“I’m privileged to be Head Coach of such a great Club heading into their 100th year. I’m also in awe of our players, they work five days a week and train three nights with us and we ask a lot from them. They are here for the love of it and it’s an honour to coach a group like that.” Burt said.
